What are polysulfide sealants?
Polysulfide sealants are polysulfide polymer-based products that consist of sulfur compounds. This results in unique properties, such as excellent flexibility, even at low temperatures, and excellent resistance to various chemicals.
SABA is one of the first companies that managed to incorporate polysulfides into sealants for sealing glazing. Starting in the seventies, when protecting groundwater against contamination at filling stations, for example, became a high priority agenda item, polysulfide-based products were added to SABA’s chemically resistant product range to prevent soil pollution. Many filling stations are still protected by our sealants.
SABA’s polysulfide products are available in 2-component versions. 2-component polysulfide sealants start to cure when a chemical reaction is created by mixing the two components. This guarantees relatively fast curing, independent of weather conditions.
