SABA dedicates month of May to health & safety

Health & safety was the main theme at SABA for the entire month of May. This is why this month was renamed: VitaliMAYmonth. Various activities were organized during this month to bring the theme to life within the organization, provide employees with information about this topic and to show that SABA considers it very important to devote attention to this theme. Below is a brief overview of the activities that were organized!

Lunch catered by the Stadsboerin

We kicked off VitaliMAYmonth with a healthy and fresh lunch in the company's café, catered by Stadsboerin [literally the 'City's Farmer's Wife' – a foundation that maintains a large neighborhood fresh food garden] in Doetinchem, the Netherlands. All dishes prepared by Stadsboerin come from fresh food grown on its own land. For many colleagues there were dishes that they had never tasted before, or they were introduced to unique combinations. In short: a nice kickoff for VitaliMAYmonth!

Visit by dieticians

The second activity consisted of two dieticians who came to explain how to read the labels on foodstuffs (because what exactly do these labels say?) and about healthy foods in general. It was an instructive and interesting session attended by many colleagues.

Walking challenge

The walking challenge started in the second week of May and is the second time SABA has organized this event. During three weeks, 76 colleagues together tried to take as many steps as possible for nice prizes and good causes! Everyone was super enthusiastic about this fun activity, which resulted in an average of 11,865 steps per person per day. As a result we amply exceeded our goal of 11,111,111 steps. In total they took almost 20,000,000 steps together. This means that in the near future a nice amount will be handed over to four local charities. The winners have since received their prizes in a festive atmosphere.

Session about working fit and healthy

In the last week of VitaliMAYmonth, an employee of our health & safety service provider, Vitamee, dropped by at SABA. She came to tell us more about how to keep working in a fit & healthy condition, but also how you can help your colleagues in this respect. An important topic, on which we also wanted to focus attention during this month!
